I welcome you to come talk with me virtually during Covid times. Many formats are available, including Zoom with fun backgrounds! I'm here to help you find and optimize your strengths (you have more than you realize!) in new ways to improve your life. I may use journaling, art, re-storying, playfulness, humor, and psychoeducation depending on your needs and likes. I pay close attention to how you see yourself, and to the relationships you have with significant others in your life. Your family of origin, peer group, culture, beliefs, and individual personality provide the basic context for our work together.
I am well versed in the micro-cultures of Issaquah, Bellevue, Redmond, North Bend, Renton, Boeing, Mircosoft. Amazon, and Expedia. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling & Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University, am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and a clinical member of the AAMFT. I have extensive experience working with couples, teenage girls, parents, and individual adults. I have both professional and personal experience with adoption, grief and loss, and marital challenges and infidelity...and my four daughters have taught me more about teenage girls than any class or book of parent recipes ever could!
I've taught and facilitated workshops and groups on parenting teenagers, divorce adjustment, sexual intimacy, refusal skills for teenage girls, and student practicum at SPU. I am also an author and write non-fiction pieces about parenthood and therapy. Currently I'm finishing Broken. Beautiful. Brave., a book about my 20 year journey working with teenage girls.
